I'm proud to share this photo of Rosie and her new colt Howard. Rosie, along with Billy were rescued by the Humane Society a few months ago and both were in terrible shape. Billy, the stallion, looked like a skeleton covered by a blanket. Rosie, who was pregnant when rescued, was not in much better shape. After months of care and lots of good feed both are doing well and as you can see Rosie gave birth to a healthy foal.

This photograph was featured on the cover of the Humane Times, the Humane Society's magazine, and I took it only a few days after Howard was born. The second photo is Billy.
